Keep in mind that " To select the most important task and focus on that work only with 100% of your focus and determination is the key to making the best of your time"

And guess what? Procrastination is the biggest hurdle to that. But do not worry, Today I am going to share some of the important facts and 7 steps which can be applied to any task to accomplish that with a highest possible degree of wellness. You can apply these in your daily life tasks as well to get the desired results.
I strongly recommend you to apply these 7 steps to at least one of your important task you want to accomplish which can make some difference in your life. You can use it in " Lossing weight, developing a habit of exercise daily, scoring 95% in the semester exam, completing an assignment and much more according to your interests.

So, let us start:-
Before entering into those steps I would like you to remove some misconceptions from your mind about the procrastination:

  • Procrastination is nothing to do with your skills- Do not think that if you are good at something, it will be easy for you, cause there is always something to do better.
  • It's not the obvious- Procrastination comes from the mindset, environment and your behavior towards the life. It can be changed.
STEPS TO COMPLETE A TASK WITHOUT PROCRASTINATION:

Step1: Before you start, working, make sure you are working in right direction.

  • Decide what exactly do you want:(Start with aiming low)- This is a big reason to procrastinate that we do not know what exactly we have to do. It happens that when we sit to study, we think that time that- what to study, how to study and where to start from, and we end up with closing the books and start operating the phone right?
You should be absolutely clear that what chapter, what topic, and what study material you have to start studying. It will remove ambiguity from your mind.

Either decide yourself or take a suggestion from your seniors, elders or someone who has knowledge of your study. Cause this is the most important part to start of your task.
Keep in mind that "Doing something well, which is not contributing to your success is also waste of your time"

Step2: Think on the paper:

  • Now this sounds very easy or unnecessary, right? but it is not. This step is equally important as all steps. Let me tell you how:
Writing your goals on the paper is the best way to make your goals visible to your eyes. You make your goals visible, tangible and achievable by writing it on the paper. It helps you psychologically to make your goals clear and imaginable that you can achieve your goals.
Take a paper and write your goals on the top of the page with date and time mentioned on that.

Step3: Deadlines:

  • Imagine that you have to finish studying two chapters of mathematics but there is no time limit. Then it is obvious that you will procrastinate right? In other hands if you have to finish two chapters cause there is an exam after two days, then it will be difficult to procrastinate.
When we have deadlines to do anything then we have clear indication that we have to finish our job before deadline.

So, After completing one and two steps also set the deadlines for all the tasks and also the sub-deadlines if necessary.

Step4: List down everything which you will have to do to complete the task:
  • In this step you have to make a list of all the activities you can think of is required in order to complete the task. For eg. If i have to finish a chapter for the final exam then I can make a list as- Study notes, remember all formula, solve problems from the book, solve the previous year question paper. Teach one of your friend for clarity etc.
It will give you a visual picture of a bigger task and subtask which helps you to take steps and decide which task you have to perform first and also helps in scheduling your subtasks.

Step5: Make a Plan from the list and organize the list.

  • Now select the priority of all your tasks and make a sequence of task based on the priority which you have to complete in order to complete the main task.
Take a paper and use the rectangles and circle etc to make a flow diagram(which you might have studied in school for many processes). It will help you to make a working map of your goal. With the written and organized plan, it will be easier to be more productive and efficient to work on.

Step6: Try To take action immediately.

  • Keep in mind, no matter how good plans you have to be the best in your class, It is useless until you work on it.
An average plan beautifully executed is far better than a wonderful plan badly executed right? So start doing something, start doing anything.
Once you will start finishing your sub-goals, You will feel more confident and happy and then it will be easier to take further steps. In my case, I take help of some motivational videos and speeches to motivate myself to study sometimes.

Step7: Make it your daily habit:
  • It will not be helpful much if you have to do all these things for all of your tasks right? So the best way is to bring it into your habit. Try to do this all the steps in your most important tasks for few days.
This is true that you will feel some difficulties in the starting, but keep in the mind- IF IT WAS EASY, everyone WOULD BE DOING IT, everyone WOULD BE SUCCESSFUL.

Once it will become your habit then you will handle any tasks on time without the procrastination. The opportunities will be limitless for yourself cause there are many things to learn and to accomplish in this world.
