How to improve English speaking skill | Practical and effective tips| for students &| employees.

English is the most spoken international language and especially in many countries, it is very tough to get a good job without knowing how to speak English. Also for many reasons such as for higher education like engineering, management etc it has become very necessary now. I am from India and in India, English is like compulsory skill to have.

Well, as we talk about learning how to speak a good English then, there are hundreds of people who can tell you that you should join a coaching, read newspapers, and all that. It sounds good but not possible to continue it more than a week for most of us because it is so boring and less effective.

So, today I am going to tell you that how can you be a better English speaker in just a few weeks without giving extra time and money and most important without getting bored. Hence read this post till the end and you will find some good tips on English speaking.

I have divided this skill into three categories i.e:

1. Learning {better words and sentences}
2. Practicing i.e speaking
3. Getting feedback and correction

In order to be a good speaker, you have to go through each of the categories. What most of us do mistake that we don't go through the last one and we get stuck to improve theEnglishh speaking skill. so let's start with the Learning.

1. LEARNING GOOD WORDS AND SENTENCES

Guys, there are various ways to learn good words and sentences but I have found out some good ways which will help you to improve your vocabulary as well as your current affairs.

Watching/Listening: Watching should be the first step in order to learn anything like play guitar, dancing and a lot more. When we watch something then we get an overall idea of that thing about how to do that without so many efforts, which is most important to start.

Now let's see that what to watch:

• Watching movies and your favorite episodes with English subtitles
• Interviews of your favorite personalities- Related to your interest so easy to get engaged.
• Watch English movies/episodes with subtitles.- To get some usual words for daily life.
• Watch documentaries and news channels- To get some important words to use in your professional life.

By above practices, we learn some really good words that are necessary for our English speaking.

Reading: Reading is an important thing to do while learning speaking English. It improves your vocabulary and the collection of good words and phrases. Most of the people would say that they are unable to understand what they read. Yes, it is true so, you have to read just one or two articles a day and try to understand them with the help od dictionary.. and try to understand them also to note new words. As soon as you continue this, you will be able to understand things easily.

Now let's see what to read without getting bored. Now don't forget to note down new words and sentences into a diary/notebook to see them again.

• Magazines
  
• Daily newspapers- it provides you good words to use.
• New researches going on
• The journals
• Novels of your interests- Try to carry a novel while traveling, it utilizes your time as well as it is a good habit to learn English.

Install a good dictionary on your phone:

There are lots of good dictionaries which help you to learn English also. There are dictionaries that send you one or two words daily to learn those words. Also, you can save some words into the application and see them afterward.

I like Hinkhoj dictionary most. you can download it from google play store.

Learn at least two words, and use them by making sentences:

You can randomly choose two or maybe five useful words from your mind or from the dictionary and practice them by making multiple sentences with them. This is very good way to learn/remember new words easily. for example:

escape- I do not want to escape from the situation

             Theif escaped from the jail etc.

Write in a notebook or Diary:

It has been seen that when we are emotional then we learn things easily. So at the end of the day, you can write the activities that you did all day in a diary. 

by this exercise, you will easily learn those all useful words that are used in your daily life which is most important.

Note: Always try to note down all those new words, phrases and the sentences that you find while learning. because without this all is the waste and all your efforts will be of no use as you are going to forget everything after sometimes.

2. PRACTICING ENGLISH

As by above all methods, you will learn some cool English and now you have to practice them for effective result. Here are some cool methods I found for you that may help you to improve your speaking skill.

Chat on social media:

We all like to chat on social media, you can use English here. In case you can't talk with your friends due to some issues then you can make new friends on social media and freely chat with them in English. 

Make a group of friends who want to learn English:

 There are always some people around us who are similar to us and want the same as us. so find those guys and ask them for conducting group activities like:

• Group discussion
• A debate
• Or a formal or informal talk

It helps you to practice English without hesitation.

Use English in your daily life: The best and the fastest method to learn how to speak English or any language. Try to speak as much time as you can in your whole day. By this, you will be able to keep remember useful words, and also your fluency will increase considerably.

Talk to customer care service:

I know it sounds crazy, but many of my friends have done it and you can try too. From next time whenever you need to talk to the customer care, please talk to them in English. No doubt they will also talk to you in English. This is a good idea to them who rarely find people to talk with.

Participate in your school/ college fests: Once you are enough confident to speak English, now you should participate in the college fests because it gives you recognization and attention. And finally you will be motivated to do better and automatically you will progress effortlessly.

3. CORRECTION( FEEDBACK)

Now here most of the people lag. Getting feedback from right person is also very important to learn English speaking. Again I have found some ways by which you can analyze you and do the required correction in your learning.

Record yourself:

You can use your smartphone for that. Record your voice and listen to that and find your weak points and give time on those weaknesses like poor vocabulary, grammatical errors etc.

Ask your elders/ teachers for feedback: Sometimes it is very hard to find the own mistakes, so it is always better that whenever you speak in front of your teacher or any close person, ask them in private about how you spoke! and what are the areas I have to work upon? That will really help you to learn how to speak English fluently.

If you practice these tips for few weeks then I am sure that you will be certainly far ahead than where you are at this time. Just keep one thing in mind that, "If it is hard, millions of people would not be doing this"
