Final exams are a little bit scary and we spend most of our time thinking what should I study and How should I study for exam? and it is important too.
Most of the students end up revising the subjects again and again even after mugging all their notebook again and again, Which is completely waste of time.

Revising 2-3 times by remembering and reading, should be enough. Now it is the time to study something else than your notebook which is also very important to score high marks in the exam. Also, it will help you to retain things in exam faster and better without confusion.

How to utilize free time as a college student?

And today we are going to discuss that what are the things other than your notebook and book you should study for scoring high marks in your final exam.

1. Assignments:
Assignments are the indirect list of Important questions set by the teachers who themselves have years of experience of setting the question papers.

Arrange all the assignments given by your teachers of all your chapters and solve them.

It is also a part of the revision of the questions which might come in the exam.

2. Short notes:
There are few things in each chapter of each subject which is difficult to remember in spite of revising again and again.

If you do not make short notes, you should start making one for each subject. And add those things to it.

Basically, short notes are the notes of your class notebook having content not more than 10% of your notebook.

Tip: If you are an average guy, then take the notebook of your topper friend and watch it. You will find the difference. Those different things you have to add in your short notes.

3. Previous year paper:
When you finish revising a chapter, it is really very necessary to know that whether you are able to recall them in the exam hall or not.
Also, few questions or concepts always get repeated again and again. You can mark those topics and strengthen them for the better result.

How many previous year's questions should I solve for better preparation? well, the answer is- It depends on the exam you are preparing for. If it is a semester, university exam, or board exam, five years would be enough.
However, if you are preparing for the competitive exam then, you should solve at least 15-20 years questions.

4. Data and numeric values and examples:
Have you ever noticed that what are the things which make the answer of a topper different than an average student?

Let me tell you. The answer to a topper is perfect because:

  • They do not write stories in subjects like science.
  • Write facts.
  • They support their answer with the help of examples and numerical figures.

Learning the subject only is not enough. If you do not know how to represent the answer sheet in the exam, you will never get the full marks.

6. Learning how to utilize the 3 hours in the exam:
Time management in the exam hall is as important as the study cause most of the students are not able to attempt all questions in spite of knowing the answer due to lack of time or bad time management.

So, you should learn and plan how can you use your exam time to score as much as possible.

7.Teaching your friend:
Teaching is the best way to revise. You can recall up to 95% if you teach someone. 

Teaching and clearing others doubts can strengthen your concepts and clear your doubts as well as a teacher.

8. Organizing a quiz with your friends:
If you want to have some fun and study simultaneously, then you can arrange a quiz with your friend. Make sure, your friend should also have finished studying the subject to make it better.

9. Chapter summary:
Some good books have the summary of the entire chapter in one or two pages. This is also a better way to revise and recall things in small time. It will tell you whether you have left something or not.

10. Solving Mock test papers:
How mock test questions are different from the previous year question? Well, mock test questions are the most expected questions set by the expert keeping the exam condition, timing and other things in mind.

If you solve the mock test papers, you will feel and experience the questions as like the exam hall. (sit at quite a place while solving it).

11. Books/ video lectures for specific topics:
There are always some topics those are tough to understand as well as important for the exam too.
You can not take the risk to leave that topic right? this is the time to read that topic from somewhere else.

You can prefer the standard books or some youtube video lectures for the same.
(keep in mind- Only difficult and important topics) otherwise, it will be nothing more than a waste of time.
