Did you ever notice, some of the students unconsciously become the smart kid of our class who studies even less than us? Actually, if you observe them, you will find a certain pattern and habits they follow which makes them so.

Today we will talk about them. So let us start!

What are the habits students should have for having better grades?

#1. Maintain a biological clock for study also:
You must have heard about the biological clock which makes us remind help us for sleeping, eating, etc at the same time daily. In the same way, if you maintain your study clock, your mind will unconsciously be ready for learning every day.

How to make a biological clock for study?

Clock
As we sleep, eat and do other work at the same time, you will have to study at the same times daily for at least 21 days. Then automatically at the respective time, you will be mentally and physically prepared for the study. You will not have to make your mind again to sit for studying.

#2. Sitting in the center front in your class:
Only attending the lecture will not help you to be the best in your class, you have to sit in front of your teacher so that you could focus in class.
It will make sure that you do not use WhatsApp or Facebook in the classroom and none of your friends will disturb you as well.
Also, you will be easily able to ask your doubt from your teacher without getting embarrassed. It will make a great image of yours in the mind of your teacher and they will give you good internal marks as well.

#3. Attend every class.if not possible, study from your friend:
Maybe you are smart and you would be thinking that I can study one or two chapter myself and bunk the class, I am sure you can do that.
However, you must know that if you attend and only listen to the teacher, you will be able to retain more than 75% which will help you at the time of revision.
While if you study yourself you will have to revise at least two to three times to remember it.
In the classroom, sometimes teacher tell us some important tricks and tips as well, which you can not find your self.

#4. Raise your hand:
Teachers do not like those students who do not ask any question or do not participate in discussion during the lectures no matter how smart are you. In another hand, if you are an average guy and asking doubts, participating in the discussion in class, will create your positive image in front of teachers.
  • Ask why it is done
  • to ask how it is done
  • Ask the advantages and disadvantages of any topic
#5. Get sufficient sleep:
Nowadays teens generally wake up at night using Facebook/Whatsapp and chatting whole night and they hardly sleep 4 hours.
Sleeping is not necessary only for the spending night but also for:
  • Proper functioning of your body
  • A good memory
  • Removing unnecessary thoughts from your mind
  • Making you relax and fresh.
  • Help to be creative and much more.
#6. Revisit your notebook:
Most of the students once written in the notebook they read that at the time of test only. This is a bad habit and takes a longer time to remember stuff as well.

According to a study, if we revise immediately after studying something new, the chances of retention is increased by a high percentage.
Revise your notes just after the class, since all content is fresh in your mind, it will not take more time to revise and also it will be remembered in your mind for a long time. There are more benefits of it such as:
  • You will make short notes of abbreviations
  • You can track mistakes if any
  • You can highlight the important things using color code
  • You can discuss your teachers if you find some new doubts.
#7. Eat that frog: Study difficult chapter first.
If you are asked to eat a frog, then which time will be the best for you? according to the author of a book "eat that frog" it will be the morning just after waking up.
Cause when you finish your most difficult task in the morning, your whole day will be easy and exciting to do something new.

So, always start to study the most difficult subject. And try to make a rough timetable to avoid the procrastination.

#8. Avoid group study:
Group study is good when you are revising subjects or you have studied that subjects before cause in group study not more than two members are intended to study. They only come to enjoy and talk to each other.
Group study is better for some case but mostly avoid it especially during exam time.

#9. Use your gadgets smartly:
We all have a smartphone today right? So why not use it for study also?
You can use your smartphones, laptop etc for the educational purpose as well:
It is advisable to use your gadgets in free time only and prefer your notebook and books for study cause it is less distracting.

#10. Take care of your health:
If your health condition is not good then no motivational is going to help you in the study. Only a healthy mind can have a healthy knowledge.
I am not telling you to join a gym or something, just a student you should take healthy balanced food, exercise for at least half an hour.
It will make you physically able to study and gain the knowledge.

#11. Teaching:
Do you know, teaching is the best way to revise and understand a topic or concept. The students who teach their friends have following great advantages:

  • They have good memory
  • they do not need to revise again and again
  • They have better understanding of the subjects
  • Less/no confusions
You can teach your juniors, your friend who have missed the class or who know less than you etc.
